Greetings to all New, Returning and Future Coaches:
Qualifications (Region 5 Specific)
  All Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches
 
  • Volunteer Application Form - apply electronically atwww.eayso.org.
  • Safe Haven Certification - Online class focusing on Child and Volunteer Protection Act guidelines.

  • Training Requirements - See below to view the training requirements for coaching different level teams in Region 5.
  U5, U6, and U8 Coaches
 
  • U8 Coach Certification - Region-administered Basic Coach Clinic (U8 emphasis) focusing on basic team management, soccer skills, and strategy.
  U10 Coaches
 
  • U10 Coach Certification - Region-administered Basic Coach Clinic (U10 emphasis) focusing on basic and intermediate team management, soccer skills, and strategy.   
  U12  Coaches
 
  •  U12 Coach Certification  - Region -administered Basic Coach Clinic (U12) emphasis) focusing on intermediate team management, soccer skills, and strategy.  It is highly recommended that U12 coaches pursue Intermediate Coach Certification.    
  U14 Coaches
 
  • Intermediate Coach Certification - Area-administered clinic focusing on intermediate team management, soccer skills, and strategy. It is highly recommended that U14 coaches pursue Advanced Coach Certification.

 

  U16 & U19 Coaches
 
  • Advanced Coach Certification - Area-administered clinic focusing on advanced team management, soccer skills, and strategy.
  All-Star Coaches
 
  • All-Star Coach Online Applications will be due two weeks prior to the ratings meeting.
  • No misconduct during fall season.
 

Certifications can also be earned by attending similar clinics in other Regions and Areas. So, if you cannot make one of our clinics, please check the websites of other Regions within Area K, or other Areas within Section 11. You can look for upcoming courses at www.eayso.org by loggin in and clicking on Course Signup found under the MyeAYSO tab.

All coaches are encouraged to achieve higher-than-required certifications!

Safe Haven Certification -  Online course focusing on Child and Volunteer Protection Act guidelines. Region 5 will offer a Safe Haven course before the season starts or complete the online course found here - http://www.aysotraining.org/courselist.html

Basic Coach Clinic - Region-administered clinic focusing on basic (U6/U8 emphasis) and intermediate (U10/U12 emphasis) team management, soccer skills, and strategy. Please see the calendar of events for time and date of upcoming Region 5 courses or look up onwww.eayso.org.

Intermediate Coach Clinic - Area-administered clinic focusing on intermediate team management, soccer skills, and strategy. Required for U14 coaches.

Advanced Coach Clinic - Area-administered clinic focusing on advanced team management, soccer skills, and strategy. Required for U16/U19 coaches.
