Communicating With Your Team

Email is the newest medium to communicate with each other but often gets lost, unanswered or left in the spam box. While just texting is fine also some parents will get a bit annoyed at other parents replying and adding to the group texting. There are solutions to your situations that are either very inexpensive or free.

	SportsConnect - The application that AYSO uses to register your child and is right here where the website is hosted has a direct connection app called GameChanger (available for both Android and Apple)  Coaches & Team Staff Members will no longer have to manually sync the app in order for rosters to update from your club’s Sports Connect site. Team information, contact information, schedule updates, and more will always be up to date from the GameChanger Team Manager mobile app, ensuring your members have the best season experience possible.  Team events that are created from your Sports Connect site will also sync directly to the GameChanger Team Manager app. Once posted, events will display for team members within the app, eliminating the need for importing or manual syncing. Synced events include: Games with times, locations, & weather updates Team Practices General Events such as banquets, pizza parties, or fundraisers Alongside auto-notifications from Sports Connect, the mobile app will provide alerts for upcoming events, schedule changes, and cancellations.
	The only communication tool in town used to be a program called shutterfly for teams. It's very easy and basic to apply. You can add your team manager (team mom) to the program and even they can add messages. All communication is through the program with reminders of game times and coaches' notes. There are also places to add pictures from all the members. Most people will not bother to even add their child's picture into their profile so it will be up to you or your team manager to stay on top of this program. There is also an accompanying application for the phone.
	Teamer is one of those programs that unless you try it, you wouldn't be impressed with it at first. There are so many things to like about teamer.net. One of the nice features is that it distinguishes between games, tournaments, and practices. Developed in the UK, you know that those people know a thing or two about team communication issues! You are able to set practices weeks out at a time and even include location maps that it stores in its database. Teamer also has a wonderful downloadable application for your parent's cell phones that sends out reminders as well as scheduling changes immediately just as a text would. Gets everyone on the same page all at once.
